Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

Are you a landlord who requires electrical safety certification for your properties? Maybe you are buying or selling your own home and need a Electrical Installation Condition Report for the legal pack or for obtaining a mortgage. Alternatively do you need a electrical report for insurance purposes or just for your own satisfaction?

Previously known as an Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) a Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) requires a visual inspection of the accessible electrical installation with the aim of inspecting a sample of the installation without completely dismantling it, followed by sufficent electrical testing to check that the installation is safe to use.

If you are the landlord of a Home in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and require a EICR for the licence, it is a requirement of Worcester City Council that the EICR is prepared by a person who is registered with a Electrical Competent Person scheme such as the one operated by NAPIT, which Andy Betteridge is registered with, fulfilling this requirement, as well as having the required professional indemnity insurance.
